John Laycock - Life Vice President

You may remember from the Autumn 2022 edition of this newsletter that John Laycock relinquished the chairmanship of the Association after an astonishing 40 years of dedicated service. John had been the face of this organisation since its inception and his departure left a void which remains, to all intents and purposes, unfilled. Aware that John was nigh-on irreplaceable, our President came to the rescue by taking on the mantle of Chairman until such time as a suitable replacement could be found.
 
Mindful of John’s extraordinary contribution, the President invited him to become a Life Vice President of the Association, a position which John was pleased to accept. The announcement was made at the recent reunion but, unfortunately, John was unable to be present. In his absence, members expressed their appreciation for John’s long and devoted tenure as Chairman and we all hope that he will make appearances at our reunions for many years to come.
